    Track 1:
    The many faces of childhood trauma, abuse and neglect in Southern Africa Themes include: transgenerational violence and abuse, the vulnerability of boy children in South Africa, children’s experiences of the child protection system, the role of the medical practitioner in cases of child abuse and neglect, the institutional neglect of the neglected child, poly-victimization of children, child fatality in South Africa.

  • Track 2:
    Children affected by HIV/AIDS in Southern AfricaThemes include: the new national strategic plan on HIV/AIDS, TB and STI’s and its focus on children, helping children and families comply with ARV treatment, helping families support children who are dying, addressing the vulnerability of children orphaned by HIV/AIDS to be sexually exploited and abused, addressing early sexual debut in children to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS, new hope for children with AIDS/Cancer diagnosis

  • Track 3:
    Sexual abuse of children in Southern AfricaHealthcare needs of children who have been sexually exploited, why some men rape babies, child-on-child sexual abuse, pornography addiction in children, the role of sexual offence courts in South Africa, treatment programmes for children who have been sexually abused.
